Cabin crew for Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) based at London Heathrow Airport have secured a significant pay rise and improved working conditions following strike action over the busy Christmas and New Year period.
More than 100 members of the Unite union employed under the SAS Connect contract took strike action after rejecting an initial pay offer that was below inflation in real terms. After negotiations with airline management, the parties agreed on a deal that will see an 8% pay increase across all grades for the next 14 months, along with higher overtime rates, two extra days of annual leave, and a new pay grade to improve progression through pay scales.

Under the agreement, overtime pay will increase from £79 to up to £240, and management has also committed to working with staff on rostering and scheduling issues to help address longstanding operational concerns.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham described the outcome as “a well-earned victory” for the crew, acknowledging the role industrial action played in securing better terms.
The resolution is expected to help stabilise service reliability and morale among cabin crew operating out of Heathrow, a key hub for SAS flights, after disruption caused by the dispute during peak travel dates.
