Jet2 Reveals New Crew Uniforms

After more than twenty years, Jet2 has unveiled a new uniform for its cabin crew and pilots. The much-anticipated new look was developed with input from the crew.

The Leeds Bradford-based carrier said that the uniforms were designed and manufactured after 18 months of ‘in-depth’ consultation with its staff ‘to get the look and feel just right.’ The process has included design workshops, wearer trials, focus groups, and a catwalk session, which led to ‘significant improvements to the design, durability, fit, and comfort.’

The new uniform incorporates fibres made from recycled materials. Up to 80,000 garments from old uniforms will be recycled into new materials, and more than 3,000 garments that cannot be recycled will be donated to charity. Jet2 added that the new garments will be delivered to crew in fully recyclable packaging.

While the airline has yet to confirm if the uniforms are gender-specific, it said that crew can choose between a dress, skirt, or trousers, “providing a better fit for all wearers”. Waistcoats and cardigans have also been introduced, “with silver buttons and detailed red tailoring giving an added wow factor”, as well as a new apron designed by Newcastle-based cabin crew member June Winter. Meanwhile, pilot uniforms will switch from black to navy blue.

For the past eight years, Jet2 has partnered with Jermyn Street Design (JSD) to design and manufacture its uniforms. These new designs reflect JSD’s expertise in building brand value through award-winning designs, ethical and sustainable production, and a focus on wearer well-being. JSD oversees the entire lifecycle of the Jet2 uniform programme, from sourcing materials across their global supply chain to distribution across all business areas in the UK and Europe.

Head of Cabin Services Micki Miles said: “Since the launch of Jet2.com in 2003, our uniform has seen subtle changes, but this is the first major new design which represents a significant change and will ensure that we stay on-brand and stylish for many years to come.

“This new look and feel has been driven by Jet2 colleagues, with 18 months’ worth of feedback and wearer trials helping us to develop a brand-new uniform that not only looks incredible but addresses comfort and practicality too. We know that our colleagues and customers will love this new uniform, and it will really take us forward as we continue looking after customers on their award-winning flights and holidays with us.”

Ann Dowdeswell, Managing Director at JSD, added: “It was an exciting challenge and privilege to design a range that embodies JSD’s ‘no one is uniform’ philosophy, celebrating diversity across Jet2’s team. Our design and development team prioritised wearer well-being and comfort, integrating sustainable materials to meet our shared commitment to sustainability, ensuring both environmental responsibility and long-lasting quality. We can’t wait to see the team step out in their new uniforms!”
